Honey's Training Philosophy: A Message to Owners
Obedience training can be used to help fulfill some of your dog’s/dogs’ basic needs, such as exercise and constructive social interactions. Obedience training will give your dog a job to do, and can be useful in redirecting some of the mental energy of an animal that was meant for work. Your pet’s problems are often a direct result of the animal’s inability to cope with the stress of everyday life. The purpose of training is to raise the pet’s/pets’ stress threshold so your pet can tolerate higher levels of stress.

Dog behavior training encompasses every aspect of canine education, from the species specific responses that’s inherent to canines, to learning theory and operant conditioning, to traditional training methods. When these training techniques are properly implemented, most people notice results immediately.

A well mannered pet is now within your reach, all you need to do is optimally structure your pet’s environment. Dog behavior problems can be solved, it only takes is patience, understanding, and effective training method. I will help you find the effective training method, you will have to supply the patience and understanding.

Some dog trainers only understand one form of dog training. Alternatively, I am open-minded, and understand that a flexible system in which you have more choices will give you the highest chance of success with each unique situation. The term system suggests order, regularity, and synchronization of methods into a complete whole. I am experienced and knowledgeable in many different types of training methods.

Learn how to understand, communicate with, and control your dog. Dog training can strengthen the relationship between you and your dog by developing simple to follow rules, both for you and your dog. Trust, understanding, and good behavior can be the foundation this relationship is built on. The beginning of a good dog/owner relationship is marked by respect, love and confidence. These are attributes shared by both dog and by the owner.

In packs, dogs always look to the leader for attention and protection and leadership. If you can fill that role, then training will come easily and your dog will follow your lead no matter where you go, because he trusts you. It is for this reason that confidence in yourself is necessary when training your dog. He wont trust you if you don’t. Training your dog is a learning process and takes time, practice and plenty of patience.
